Looking for the language of the Bible

Text fragments on pottery, pieces of leather, papyrus, chunks of stone and stucco parings: these all tell us something about the time in which they were made. Holger Gzella, Professor of Hebrew and Aramaic language and literature at Leiden University, examines text fragments from the Middle East to get a picture of the language developments in that region during the first millennium BC.
